Dirty deeds done dirt cheap.

------------

Idea came from a mafia "interrogation room," but with a guitar instead of a gun of some sort. Had some people say they've had light problems at the bottom, others not so much. I really don't know what to do with it at this point, as any light at the bottom would be too much and probably reflected off my ultra-polished guitar. Yes, it really is THAT black. Still one of my favorite pics, though. Hope you enjoy it!

Very nice! Sorry for the non-advanced critique. I just wanted to say I like it a lot!

Hey handsome,

This is a good picture. I like the composition and the attitude.

One thing bothers me, though. The guitar is too dark. The light is fine on the shoulders to the hands of the figure, but below that, it's dim and doesn't look like it was on purpose. A trifle lighter will still give the desired impression, I think. In fact, if there were just a tiny bit more light on the main part of the guitar (almost a glancing blow, not a centered spot, something off kilter and diagonal to contrast with the verticality of the guitar, but maybe in line with the angle of the leg on the left), leaving the neck the way it is, that would do it.

Making fun of the powerful is Bravery, because they can make you pay for what you say. This is why Satire is the weapon of the Clever Courageous. Making fun of someone weaker than you are, that is merely Cowardice.

I just realized what it was tied to the neck of the guitar and I take it back. That tie needs to be high-lighted more as well...that vivid red reminicent of blood, needs to stand out.

Hehe. Thanks for the critique. The bottom is slightly dark, but it's not that bad on my monitor. Any work making it lighter in Photoshop would have added mucho, mucho film grain, and I couldn't make it lighter using the lamp because it was in a set wall of the basement. :(. I played around with it, and I think this is the style I like with it.

I actually need to make a journal post soon about viewing my art. It seems some monitors can view my pieces really well while others make it a dark mess. It's REALLY bad when I try to view DA from the LCD monitors at work, and I don't really know why. :(

This is great. I have to disagree with the comment about the guitar being too dark. I think it has just the right amount of darkness, given the subject and the nature of the title. The suit adds to the mafioso look, and brings the whole thing together. Great quote too, perfect for the pic. Well done.

Hm. Well, it does look slightly better on my home monitor. What a drag, though, to be at the mercy of monitor variations. :(

this photo has an air of sophistication - or maybe thats just because of the amount of black in the frame. really interesting concept and the alliteration of the d's =P
